Overview

The UG Program in Game Design Communication Design and Technology course aims to teach students to enter the communication design industry with theoretical, technical, and business knowledge. This diploma in game design course equips students to apply principles of design to a range of communication challenges across different media, formats and contexts. Students learn to understand people in their socio-cultural settings and to devise strategies that lead to well designed communication products, systems, services and experiences.

Through the four-year duration of the Game Design program, students will learn history and theory of Play, Games and Gaming, 2D and 3D graphics, simulation and modeling, user interface design, storytelling and narrative architecture, current best practices/developments in game design, online games, casual games, mobile games, educational games, serious and strategy games, apply their theoretical learning to prototype, test and develop game projects of different sizes and complexity. During the process of creating these games, students will work in multidisciplinary teams, thereby getting exposure to how real-world gaming companies operate and will be a part of a creative community with strong external networks.

An Undergraduate (UG) Program in Game Design Communication Design and Technology is a specialized educational course that combines the fields of communication design and technology with a focus on game design and development. Students learn about the principles and techniques of game design, including game prototyping, playtesting, and game production.

The program combines theoretical knowledge with practical hands-on experience. Students engage in project-based learning, where they work individually or in teams to design and develop their own games. They learn about game design principles, game engines, game art and animation, sound design, and game marketing.
