The UG Program in User Experience and Interaction Design 4-year program is cross-disciplinary, with roots in Communication Design. Students will develop a keen sensitivity to the fundamentals of design and leveraging design solutions across different media to create socio-cultural impact.
As they progress, students will explore the intersections between human behaviour, visual systems, the built world, and the natural world, and develop the ability to define, develop, deliver meaningful and desirable product-service ecosystems.
The program will equip students with the specialised skills to build digital products and holistic experiences based on a human-centred design methodology. Students will learn topics spanning the areas of digital platform design, visual design, emerging technologies, and human behaviour, among others.
An Undergraduate (UG) Program in User Experience (UX) and Interaction Design is an immersive educational course that focuses on developing skills and knowledge in the field of designing intuitive and engaging digital experiences. This program is designed for individuals who have a passion for creating user-centric and interactive digital products and services.
The program covers a wide range of subjects, including user research, information architecture, interaction design, usability testing, visual design, prototyping, and user interface (UI) design. Students learn about the principles and methodologies of UX design, human-computer interaction, and the psychology behind user behavior.
The program combines theoretical learning with practical hands-on experience. Students engage in projects, case studies, and workshops where they apply UX design techniques and tools to create user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing digital interfaces. They learn about wireframing, prototyping software, usability testing methods, and best practices for designing intuitive and accessible user experiences.
Throughout the program, students gain an understanding of user-centered design approaches, design thinking, and the iterative design process. They develop skills in conducting user research, analyzing user data, and translating insights into meaningful design solutions. They also learn about the latest trends in interaction design, including mobile app design, web design, and emerging technologies such as augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR).
Upon completion of the program, graduates can pursue careers as UX designers, interaction designers, UI designers, information architects, usability specialists, or user researchers. They have a strong foundation in UX design principles, technical proficiency in design software and prototyping tools, and the ability to create engaging and seamless user experiences across various digital platforms.
